Await more updates of my final year project. I'm planning to be done with the modelling in about two weeks time or sooner. And I'll have to start with the texturing. Maybe camera animation before that.
I've just found the perfect plugin for 3ds max. Namely the Guruware Ivy Generator. This simple and easy to use plugin will be used by me for my final year project. Saving me a lot of time modelling and placing the ivy. Still there are some drawbacks to this plugin. Like the generator making a whole lot polygons to the branches, but that's acceptable by me! I'm still a bit fussed about the texture as I've not touched that part yet. I'm still just testing this awesome plugin while I'm modelling the rest of the scene. Testing is key! If you would like to test out this plug in you just click on this link and follow the instructions on how to add it to your 3ds max version. http://www.guruware.at/main/index.html Thanks to the Guruware team and the original creator, Thomas Luft.

I am currently working on my final year project at Teesside. I haven't done as much as I should have by now, but I am catching up to my schedule. I am still modelling and I have three roughly finished buildings. My idea is for you to be guided through my street. There will be a carnival in town so you will be seeing decorations and posters displaying that fact. I'd like to share that I will get my new computer this Wednesday. Goodbye laptop (laggy piece of junk), hello expensive machinery. Await more details of this matter. I will also show you a cool music video I discovered yesterday. The music is by Phonat with the song "Love hits the fan". I'd like to do a similar one myself in the near future. Only if I had the time for it now! Also there is another one. This one is only a teaser. A compilation of songs from Skrillex. Anyways I found that video cool and wanted to share. Me and a couple of my friends had a session with Mark Buschbacher this Tuesday. We learned a lot from him. About how to get the set ready and how to work the lights and camera. These are all time consuming. We were there from 10:30 AM to about 15:30 PM. We had booked from 9 AM to 5 PM, but the university opens and closes down all randomly because of the snow. Apperantly this is the harshest winter they have had in decades here in Middlesbrough. I find that very funny, but somewhat understandable. Do they have spiked tires in the UK? I have not seen a car with them.
At the start we were only going to test out the studio and see what our limits are, but as time flew by we found out that we might as well just shoot the real thing. We managed to film all of Vegars shots for his AVE movie, Saboteur. It was a real challenge with the lighting and camera movements, but we managed. Can't wait to see it in action with the CG. Here are some images I took that day. We were unlucky as non of us had a camera with us the first two hours, but I went home and got mine. Anyways that day was awesome and I can't wait for next time. Sorry for being afk for this long people! You may have noticed I have uploaded some new personel projects I have had this summer. I had as little as non motivation too keep on working during the long summer I had.
Anyways I just wanted you all to know that I have moved to the UK for my studies at Teesside University and getting my Bachelor Degree. And wow it's a lot of work on your own. There is a lot to be done and I have a couple of great ideas, but all in good time. Anyways I'm having a great time here. Lots of great people both old and new. I have four modules and those are Creative Character Animation, Studio Practical Business, Advance Visual Effects and Practical Project for 60 credits. I originally had five and that was Creative Animation, but I had to ditch that because of what I already have done when I attended Noroff in the second year. It was exactly the same as our final project at Noroff. I changed that one for a more "challenging" project in Practical Project. Instead of a 40 credit I got 60. I have some idea for what I am going to make and I will keep you updated as I go along this year. Finally I took the time to share some information with all of you. I have been pretty busy these few months. As I have been working on a "short animation movie" with four others. We ended up calling the group "Legendairy". Our time working together has proven difficult and frustrating, but we managed.
We had our deadline yesterday and delivered our project consisting with only the main movie and no intro or end credits and no sound effects or music. We have a new deadline now. To deliver a "full product" for the "premier". Which is nine days away. Check out the gallery section for renders of our movie. So up untill now I have alot of unfinished projects. It has to do with another project with much more priority. Our final school project. Even so I still managed to make some more side projects that still needs alot of work. We just had our easter vaction and I figured I'd practice texturing. So I found my target and it is the sword from the series Berserk (yes I make alot of objects from variouse anime/manga). The sword is named Dragon Slayer since its purpose is to kill dragons. Funny enough the main encounters enemies far more dangerouse than dragons. I saw this image on google and thought "wow". So now with this small project I tend to recreate this image in my own vision. Here is what I have at the moment. Well it's not the final render since I have made a few changes on it to correct it. I'm pretty satisfied on how the texture came out. Not like what I'm uesd in doing with clean and smooth surfaces. Now for something else. I have also created a Fabergè Egg. It's still a work in progress as all the other projects I have. I figured I'd make something for easter, but I went overboard and made something else. At least it's an egg.
For this one I tend to make a more realistic feel to it. As of now you don't feel that yet since I haven't added reflections and depth of field. I plan to work more on the model as I'm not happy with the way it is now. It still need a little more accessorize, but not too much. As I want it to be simple and clean. Not like any other eggs you see with crazy spikes that can kill. This is what I have so far. It's missing it's two front legs, head and wings. The finished look will be a black metal surface with blu led lights as his eyes. Cool huh?
I've got an assignment from a photographer at my schools building. He wants me to make any bug that me and a friend choose and animate it. It is for a fashion video displaying all kinds of items and clothes. The photographer wants a scene with a bug flying by a helmet and that is all. A friend got me this assignment and we are working on it together. We are not getting paid as we are not allowed to receive anything. This is how it looks like at the moment. Nothing much yet, but I'll get it done by the end of tomorrow (I hope).
All 13 drawings are uploaded. Most of them were done in a short period of time. Will fix some of them soon.
